Hal Carroll : A look back at TNT

Outside the ring, Hal Carroll is usually just a little more loquacious than a scene from an old motional picture starring an unaided Harpo Marx. But once the bell sounds, he affirms, "I let my fists do the talking." And for quite a spell now they have been giving addresses that would even make a reincarnated William Jennings Bryan envious. Carroll can safely be termed a fight skipper's dreamboat. Besides possessing natural ability galore, the Central New York based black Adonis loves to train-the tougher the grind, the better-and is an ultra rapid learner. He has no taste whatsoever for booze, tobacco, and discotheques. Indeed, this early-to-bed and early-to-rise advocate's most radical diversions are eating an occasional gallon of vanilla ice cream as well as viewing the annual network TV appearance of the hilarious Harlem Globe trotters' basketball squad.
