Trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain is confident his Jhonny Gonzalez (54-8, 46KOs) will recover the featherweight world title of the World Boxing Council (WBC), when he faces champion Abner Mares (26-0-1, 14KOs)on August 24th in Carson, California. Nacho, the trainer of such fighters as Juan Manuel Marquez, says the underdog role is motivating Gonzalez even further as a fighter. Gonzalez was unseated when he lost a technical decision last year to Daniel Ponce De Leon, who Mares knocked out in May to capture the crown. "I enjoy studying his opponents and we talked about the strategy. We will not fail, and he is also very motivated.
