Trainer Miguel Diaz predicts a Pacquiao victory

Trainer Miguel Diaz predicts a Pacquiao victory October 31 2013 File:Miguel Diaz (trainer).jpg As we head into the final stretch of fights in 2013, the last pay per view event to close out the year will be Manny Pacquiao’s return against all-action Brandon Rios, who he is set to meet on Nov. 23 in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view clash. For some, the biggest intrigue heading into the match is what version of Pacquiao we are going to see. This past December, the Filipino star was knocked out in brutal fashion, as he was left lying unconscious after taking a counter right hand from Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their fourth encounter.

Robert Garcia "Pacquiao is not what he was"

Robert Garcia, trainer of Brandon Rios, has noticed a physical decline in eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Rios challenges Pacquiao on November 23rd in Macau, China. Garcia trained Antonio Margarito for his 2010 clash with Pacquiao, which took place at a catch-weight of 150-pounds. Margarito took a bad beating in the fight and lost a lopsided twelve round decision. During the fight, Margarito suffered a bad orbital bone injury and it led to his career coming to close. "We're going to prepare for the best Pacquiao, that same one from four years ago, that's the Pacquiao that we are going to prepare for. [But] there are little things that I've been noticing in his last two or three fights... he does not have the same strength and his legs are suffering from cramps.........[possibly the affects of] age, punishment in the gym. There are things that nobody can hide. It happen to athletes, boxers and there is nothing you can do [about it]," Garcia said.

Robert Garcia "Rios is different from Margarito"

When Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) vs. Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) was first announced for November 23 in Macau, many experts compared the match to Pacquiao's 2010 battle with Antonio Margarito. In that fight, whict took place at a catch-weight of 150-pounds, Pacquiao gave Margarito a vicious beating over twelve one-sided rounds. Robert Garcia, who trained Margarito for that fight, and currently trains Rios, does not view the two fights in the same light. "Everybody knows and everyone says [that], Brandon doesn't seem to see it like that. Manny fought Margarito three years ago. Three years ago Manny was a different Manny. And another difference, Brandon is 10 years younger than Margarito. Brandon is young and Brandon is hungry. Margarito had already accomplished so much and already had some problems. He was going through a lot of things in his head, with the hand wrap controversy, with the knockout [loss] he had against Mosley. So it's a big difference. Brandon is hungr

Brandon Rios "Mayweather beats Pacquiao"

Future opponents Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) appeared together on the popular sports program First Take, where the two fighters were hyping their anticipated fight on November 23rd at Cotai Arena in Macua, China. During their joint interview, they started going back and forth on the subject of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). The two fighters began trading words when Rios was asked by one of the hosts - who wanted to get his opinion on whether or not Pacquiao, going back two years ago, was capable of beating Mayweather. Rios: I still got to go with Floyd. Floyd is stil the man, he can still take two years off and come back and do his job. Pacquiao: He's happy because he's cheering for Floyd. Rios: I'm not here with my pom poms going for Floyd, I'm just being honest. Pacquiao: If you look at my style and [Floyd's] style, he has the advantage because he is running, running and not fighting.

Brandon Rios "I ain't Margarito!"

Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) appeared together on the popular sports program First Take, where the boxers were selling their anticipated fight on November 23rd at Cotai Arena in Macau, China. Rios made it clear, in front of Pacquiao, that he was not going to be another Antonio Margarito, who took a severe beatdown at the hands of Pacquiao in 2009. Pacquiao is trying to rejuvenate his career after getting knocked out in the sixth round by Juan Manuel Marquez last December. "I was there [when he was knocked out by Marquez], I was happy to face either one. Before the stoppage they were both hurt. He had Marquez hurt but Marquez caught him with a great shot. He jumped in and boom. I know I'll be ready. They think that I'm another Margarito. That I'm just going to come forward and take a beating. I'm younger, coming up in weight and better. Manny Pacquiao was the best but everybody gets aged at [some] point," Rios said.
